What’s your name, where are you from, and when did you start learning violin?

My name is Venus, I'm from Texas, and I started my Trala journey in 2020, in my 58th year. I'm a late bloomer, but that's OK!”

Why did you decide to learn violin?

The violin has always been a long standing passion. It’s beautiful and it’s something I need to learn. But it was also a contest between me and my son to see who would play better—whoever played better by the end of the year got to take the other person's violin. So guess what? I have his violin! 

What are your goals for the violin?

One of my biggest goals for my violin is to play the violin through a loop and paint to the music that I’ve actually created. I’d also like to play for my immediate family, like my grandchildren, or at a wedding. But actually, to use my own recording of music to paint to—that's one of the things I want to try.
