What’s your name, where are you from, and when did you start learning violin?

Hi, my name is James Eke, and I have been playing the violin for about one year and 10 months. I started on Christmas Day a year and 10 months ago, and I started with Trala that very same day. 

Why did you decide to learn violin?

It has just been an instrument that is always kind of spoken to me, I think because it has a really soulful thing to it and it just resonates with me. And honestly, I've always thought that I would like to play violin. But it took me about 50 years to figure out that I was going to play violin. I honestly never thought that I would necessarily even play the violin. 

What are your goals for the violin?

My immediate goals are just to sound better. Eventually, I'd like to see where I can go with the violin because I've absolutely fallen in love with it.
