Meet Lena from Prague

Played as kid

Violin is just so beautiful. It's impossible to stop learning, to stop trying to play better and to sound better. I like the challenge, but most of all the beauty.

Meet Lena 👋

What’s your name, where are you from, and when did you start learning violin?

My name is Lena, I live in Prague, and I'm originally from Russia. I used to play violin when I was child, but when I was 17, I just packed it up after my final exam in the musical school and never returned to it until about a year ago. I picked it up again recently, encouraged by my husband and some friends, and a couple of months later I found out about Trala. At first I tried a couple of free lessons, and I got excited about the community. I’ve been on Trala now for about half a year.

Why did you decide to learn violin?

For me, the violin is absolutely a super exciting instrument. I remember first time I heard violin in some concert for the school students in elementary school, and I was so amazed, so excited about the sound, how it looks, how it feels. So I never stop begging my parents to send me to the musical school and learn how to play violin. Later on, of course, I found out it’s such a challenging instrument. It took me a couple of months just to pick it up. But at the same time, it's just so beautiful. It's impossible to stop learning, to stop trying to play better and to sound better and better. I like the challenge, but most of all the beauty.

What are your goals for the violin?

So this is the funny part. I also do pole dancing, and I started thinking about how I can merge those two things: pole dancing and playing violin. I worked on a first trial of the choreography which actually combined the two, and I want to keep going on it. Someday I will try to use this combination on the stage.

Lena is a Brand Strategist from Prague who’s been learning violin with Trala since 2021.
